Dr Stephen Hook

Dr Stephen Hook has been in private practice adult psychiatry for over 25 years, working in a wide variety of clinical settings. Whilst he has assisted patients with the full range of mental health difficulties, he now specializes in Adult ADHD. He has a low-key but engaging style, aiming to make the assessment informative and useful for his patients. His treatment approach is practical and evidence-based but he also recognizes the need to customize treatment according to the patient’s situation and priorities.

Dr Asiri Rodrigo

Consultant Psychiatrist

MBBS, MD (Psych), MRCPsych, FRANZCP, Cert. Psych. Psychotherapies

Dr Rodrigo is a Consultant Psychiatrist trained in Australia, the United Kingdom and Sri Lanka, and has specialist qualifications from all three countries.

Dr Rodrigo has obtained an Advanced Training Certificates in Psychotherapies (Cognitive Behaviour Therapy) and Forensic Psychiatry from RANZCP. He completed a certificate of Addictive Behaviours. He was awarded a PhD from the University of Melbourne on modifying CBT to suit different cultural contexts. He has published widely on various topics including psychotherapy, cross cultural presentations, general adult psychiatry, forensic psychiatry and child psychiatry.

Dr Eileen Vuong

Consultant Psychiatrist

MBChB, FCPsych, MMed, FRANZCP, PhD

Her clinical areas of expertise and interest include women’s mental health (pregnancy and postpartum mental illness, premenstrual disorders, fertility difficulties, miscarriage grief, perimenopausal mood disorders); trauma-related disorders (Acute stress and post-traumatic stress disorders), depression and bipolar disorders, Anxiety and OCD-related disorders.

Dr Vuong has worked in the public, private and academic sector in South Africa, New Zealand and Australia- providing care to culturally, ethnically, and socio-economically diverse patient groups. She has published in several international journals, book chapters and presented her research at international congresses. She completed a PhD in 2022 examining the role of a biomarker in predicting the onset of post-traumatic stress disorder and cardiometabolic disease in a large cohort of female rape survivors. She is an Honorary Lecturer at the University of New South Wales and provides teaching to medical students.

Dr Vuong accepts referrals for general psychiatry and ADHD assessments* (*only if the patient has an existing diagnosis of ADHD and/ has completed psychometric testing with a clinical psychologist).

Dr Vuong also provides transitional care for new immigrants/ expats/ individuals on temporary/ work/ study visas who require continuation of existing/established psychiatric treatment whilst residing in Australia.

Dr Mohammad Faizal

Consultant Psychiatrist

Dr Faizal is a Fellow of the Royal College of psychiatrists, United Kingdom, and Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists. He has worked in psychiatry for over 20 years. He worked as a Clinical Director for Addictions in the UK and is currently working as a Clinical Director for adult services in Australia. He has experience working in a range of specialties including Adult Psychiatry, Addictions and Forensic Psychiatry.

Dr Faizal is a General Adult and Addictions Psychiatrist with expertise in treating psychiatric disorders affecting adults of all ages. His clinical expertise includes disorders such as depression, anxiety, psychosis, bipolar disorder, OCD, PTSD, alcohol and drug misuse, adult ADHD, and perinatal disorders

Doctor Faizal has worked with patients experiencing psychiatric sequel of brain injury and neurodegenerative disorders such as Parkinson’s, Huntington’s, and late-stage dementia. He has also worked with patients with autism spectrum disorders.

He has published in international journals in areas such as Addictions and Mood Disorders. He is passionate about timely and safe access to care for patients and has won many Clinical Excellence awards for patient-centred care when he was developing services in the UK. After two decades of work in the public sector, he now provides services for private patients.

Dr Yasodha Rohanachandra

Child and Youth Psychiatrist

MBBS, MD (Psychiatry), FRANZCP

Dr Yasodha Rohanachandra specializes in Child and Youth Psychiatry and has over 10 years’ experience providing assessment and care for young people with mental health conditions. She completed her MBBS and MD (Psychiatry) in Sri Lanka, followed by advanced training in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry in Australia, earning a Certificate of Advanced Training from the University of Melbourne in 2017. She practised in Sri Lanka for four years before returning to Australia, where she became a Fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists (FRANZCP).

Dr Rohanachandra has been serving in public Child And Youth Mental Health Services (CYMHS) in regional Victoria for the past 3.5 years. She has extensive experience in managing a wide spectrum of neurodevelopmental and mental health conditions, including Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), anxiety disorders, depression, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), eating disorders, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), and early psychosis.

She has contributed to the field through multiple peer-reviewed publications and book chapters in child and adolescent psychiatry. Dr Rohanachandra provides assessment and treatment for young people up to 25 years of age, with a focus on evidence-based, developmentally informed, and family-centred care.

A/Prof. Kaushadh Jayakody

A/Prof. Jayakody has been working in the field of psychiatry since 2005. After obtaining a medical degree (MBBS), he completed his psychiatry training in the United Kingdom (UK), obtaining membership (MRCPsych), fellowship (FRCPsych), and advanced training (CCT) in Adult and Addiction Psychiatry. He then completed psychiatry training in Australia, obtaining fellowship (FRANZCP). Additionally, he completed a Doctorate in Psychiatry (MD) and a Masters in Psychiatry (MSc) in the UK. He is an Associate Professor (Affiliate) at IMPACT, School of Medicine, Deakin University (Australia), and has published several mental health research studies in international peer-reviewed journals. His areas of expertise include psychosis, depression, anxiety disorders, ADHD, PTSD, bipolar disorders, personality disorders, OCD, ASD, and brief psychological therapies.

Dr Riteeka Deshpande

Dr Riteeka Deshpande is a Consultant Psychiatrist with broad experience across adult psychiatry including inpatient, community, emergency, and consultation–liaison in Australia. She is committed to delivering patient-centred, recovery-oriented care tailored to individual needs.

She completed her Fellowship of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists (FRANZCP) in 2022 and is also a Member of the Royal College of Psychiatrists (UK).

Dr Riteeka has worked across several major health services including Alfred Health (Victoria), Launceston General Hospital (Tasmania), and Royal Darwin Hospital (Northern Territory), with experience spanning across adult psychiatry presentation and management.

She has a particular interest in women’s mental health and adult ADHD. Her approach is welcoming, respectful, trauma informed, culturally sensitive and inclusive of clients from all backgrounds

Paediatrician

Dr Yasoja Chamilka Edirisinghe

Consultant Paediatrician
MBBS, DCH, MD (Paediatrics), FRACP

Dr. Chamilka is a general paediatrician with more than 20-year experience in all aspects of Paediatrics (newborns to adolescents) with a special interest in:

  • Behavioural problems (Autism, ADHD, other challenging behaviours)
  • Developmental problems (Developmental delay, Learning difficulties)
  • Management and coordination of care for children with chronic illnesses or complex needs.
  • She is experienced in diagnosing and managing neurodevelopmental disorders such as ADHD up to the age of 25.

She has worked in Sri Lanka, UK and Australia in clinical paediatrics, research and medical education. Her work ethic focuses on building the bond of trust with parents and children to ensure a long-term, fruitful medical relationship.

Dr Hiran Edirisinghe

General Practitioner

Dr. Hiran Edirisinghe is an experienced specialist general practitioner with over 20 years of expertise across a wide range of medical disciplines. He graduated from the University of Queensland and has worked at several major tertiary hospitals in both Brisbane and Melbourne. Dr. Edi holds the academic title of Senior Lecturer at the Faculty of Medicine, University of Queensland.

In his past roles, Dr. Edirisinghe has worked at The Mosman Practice and Brionte Medical Centre in New South Wales. He has a special interest in ADHD and general psychiatry, focusing on both child and adult mental health. Dr. Edirisinghe has also served as a Visiting Medical Officer (VMO) at The Melbourne Clinic, Australia’s largest private psychiatric facility, for over 15 years.
